About Us

Exploring the Natural History of The Bahamas is a semester-long course offered at Ohio State University where students have the chance to participate in an immersive interdisciplinary study of the natural history (geology, biology, chemistry, oceanography, and human history) of San Salvador Island, The Bahamas.

Students in the Spring 2023 class include both undergraduate and graduate students from the Ohio State Columbus and Newark campuses. Some are Earth Science majors, some are passionate about the ocean, and all are excited to learn about the diverse ecosystems, fascinating geological features, amazing oceanography, and unique human history of San Salvador Island, The Bahamas.
